Large movements of liberation that led to the country's independence (1912), provided the conditions for a new artistic orientation, which would reflect life in a more realistic way. Secular paintings with patriotic and ethnographic motives were born. In the history of Albanian art, the year 1883 is noted for two of the most valuable paintings " Portreti i Skënderbeut " by Jorgji Panariti and " Motra Tone " by Kole Idromeno. With these two paintings begins the journey of the Albanian Renaissance.
